Safeguarding & Child Protection

At Linford Digital Academy, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is our highest priority. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment where children can develop their digital, technical and problem-solving skills with confidence.

Our academy delivers robotics, coding, computer science and digital technology programmes for children aged 5–18 years, and we take our responsibility to protect every learner seriously.

Enhanced DBS Checked Trainers

All trainers and staff working with children at Linford Digital Academy:

  • Hold Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks
  • Are carefully vetted before working with students
  • Follow professional safeguarding standards
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with students
This ensures children are supervised by trusted and appropriately screened adults at all times.

Reporting Safeguarding Concerns

All trainers are responsible for recognising and reporting safeguarding concerns..

If a concern arises, Linford Digital Academy will:

  • 1. Take the concern seriously
  • 2. Record the concern appropriately
  • 3. Inform the academy management immediately
  • 4. Contact parents or guardians where appropriate
  • 5. Seek guidance from local safeguarding authorities if necessary

Where required, concerns may be reported to the local safeguarding team or relevant authorities to ensure the safety of the child.

Safe Learning Environment

Linford Digital Academy maintains a safe learning environment by:

  • Supervising all classes and activities
  • Keeping class sizes small to ensure proper attention and safety
  • Setting clear expectations for behaviour and respect
  • Providing age-appropriate learning activities

All technology used in the academy is appropriate for the age group being taught.

Photography and Media Consent

From time to time, Linford Digital Academy may take photographs during classes to showcase student projects or activities.

  • Photographs will only be used for academy promotional purposes
  • Parental consent will always be obtained in advance
  • Students without consent will not appear in photographs

Drop-Off and Collection

To ensure student safety:

  • Parents or guardians must ensure children are safely dropped off and collected
  • Younger children must be collected by a parent or authorised adult
  • Trainers supervise students only during scheduled class times

Parents remain responsible for students before and after sessions.
